Recorded Event
By admin | June 3, 2007
Was in the booth at a live/recorded event. Out the booth windows there were bleachers and to my right a stage. The whole was dark (black) with lights having a blue cast and then of course there were tech lights up above. I had a program that indicated there would be a reading of a play and then some form of entertainment.
I began by performing an introductory function, narrating the event, its purpose, our thanks, and then introducing the play, which turned out to be more of a rock opera, at it was heavy on electric guitars and happened on the stage. I left booth and went out and there bumped into JK, a professor from CSU in real life, who, here, was a faculty member of whatever school I was at. He was looking for a licensed version of some software, which in the end turned out to be Adobe Premiere Pro. He was complaining about the key server interfering with his personal copy and I explained to him why we chose not to use any of that software in our center. JB was there.
We discussed having a door placed in the upper back of the amphitheater, as I’m now recalling that originally, rather than a live/recorded spectacle the “play reading” was supposed to be a class and we were to be in a classroom that was an amphitheater, i.e. shaped like a bowl with chairs/benches in it. However, there was no entrance at the top/rim of the bowl; so all persons had to enter below. I don’t especially know why it was being discussed, but I recall talking with JK and looking up to my right and seeing the booth, a series of windows in an annex that extended behind it, and a set of open stairs (with steel pipe banisters coming down); I recall saying, “well, it makes sense as those are your faculty offices right there…
